Daily Fruit + Play

Yesterday I ate:

8:00 . . . 8 valencia oranges
9:00 . . . 12 satsuma mandarins
11:00 . . . 2 bananas in banana pudding
1:00 . . . 1 lb. raspberries + 4 medjool dates
3:00 . . . 2 bananas in banana pudding
5:00 . . . 1 lb. raspberries + 3 medjool dates
6:00 . . . 2 bananas in banana pudding
7:00 . . . 10 satsuma mandarins + a few campari tomatoes
8:00 . . . a few valencia oranges

Play: dance, acrobatics, stretching, lots of rest!

Since yesterday was Sunday and I had no obligations or unnatural schedule, I could eat whenever I wanted. And I literally ate from morning 'til night! Ha!

Now that citrus season is upon us, I am greeting my old sweet orange friends and really appreciating the lovely smell they bring to the house. I never tire of oranges. Never. They are brightening and uplifting in every way.

And these mandarin tangerines are really wonderful. So soft and delicate and sweet. They are so gorgeous I almost don't want to eat them. Sigh. But I do.

I am buying these mandarins in great abundance. Which reminds me of this:

My #1 tip for people who want to go fruitarian is to always have PLENTY (lots!) of really good quality fruit that you LOVE on hand at all times.

My #2 tip is to take all the time, energy, attention and money that you currently devote to restaurants, recipe books and ingredients, kitchen gadgets and appliances, cooking and cleaning up from the cooking, buying and eating junk on the sly (busted!), being sick and miserable, supplements and medications, caffeine and alcohol, doctor and dentist visits, and beauty products, and spend it all instead on sourcing really good quality fruit.

I took my own advice today and bought 6 lbs. of local raspberries, 20 lbs. of Earth bananas, and 16 lbs. of valencia oranges, plus a few pounds of other stuff like cukes and tomatoes.

I feel blessed and grateful to be able to have such an abundant life. I know that many beings are struggling and my heart goes out to them. ♥

  2. Hi Fruity Jules,
I've been following your blog for a while, and want to thank you for all your inspiration! You have no idea how many aha moments your writing has given me, and
    I'm really grateful!

I finally feel myself to be over all the transitional hurdles and am really enjoying the fruit bliss. I love reading what you have to say and hearing your experiences. We all have such unique flavors along this fruity path, but so much in common too.

Wishing you a beautiful day and wonderful times,
    best wishes,
    sunmaiden

  3. Thank you so much, sweet sunmaiden! Cool name! I do love the way we can all keep each other inspired and feeling connected. It's wonderful to hear you are doing so well. Hang in there through the holidays and the winter, if you are in the northern hemisphere. ♥

  4. Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you and your family as well! I like being a sunmaiden too. Before being fruity I used to sunburn, and now I enjoy soaking up the rays!:)

I have a question for you. I feel like I'm over the big transitional period, and am comfy, body and soul in fruit love, but I can't quite come to terms with the long future of life's unknowns. I trust that goodness will always provide ample fruit, and that I will never be in an extended situation with no other options (this "other food" has no attraction anymore). If its not too personal, could you share how you dealt with this feeling of uncertainty?

I'm not a blogger (yet:) but am keeping a fruit journal at iheartfruit. I've been so happy to read other's journeys and want to add my own. Its a comforting hope for the world, to know that an increasing few are turning to this way of eating, and are inspiring others to know how it works. Hurray for the internet:)

Hope you enjoy some especially good and warming fruits for the holidays!

    Best Wishes,
    Sunmaiden

  5. Hi again, Sunmaiden! Hmmmm . . . dealing with the uncertainty of the future . . . honestly, when it comes to fruit, I don't have any uncertainty. Because it is such a priority for me, I don't get myself into situations where I cannot be in control of my food. For example, I would not choose to travel somewhere that it would be a problem. I think that as time goes on, this will resolve itself for you. I mean, it's never been an issue for me so far, going on 5 years. So I guess I have just become confident that there always seems to be fruit everywhere! (Or I bring my own.) Also, my life habits have changed so that I am not nearly as social as I used to be. I am happier with everything being simpler.

I feel easily able to control my fruit procuring, but the rest of the future is up in the air! ; )

Yes, a comforting hope, for sure! ♥

    Love,
    Julie

  6. Hi Julie,

Thank you:) You know, framing that question in words for me made a huge difference to how I understood it, and after posting it I found myself pondering it so deeply, that I did get a good answer. Thanks for being the catalyst:)

It's like I'm on a path through the enchanted forest, and sure, there will be thorns and maybe dragons along the way, but for sure I'm on it and won't be turning around to see what's behind me:) I've there, and love myself too much to go back:)

I live very simply too, supportive raw family, sweet fruit loving kids, and yes, we all prefer a trip to the grocery store than an evening out:)

I do believe the powers of positive thought and attraction will bring me what I need, and I am feeling free of that insatiable appetite that comes when you eat inappropriate foods and are still craving sustenance. It is such a blessing and a freedom to be sustained by fruit!

I spent some time reading your old journalse on line this weekend. I am so grateful to have been able to read them. They are a huge gift. I felt a little like an intruder, but I realize that even the personal is a universal experience. Its open to everyone. I believe there are other good paths through life, but for me, the fruit diet has been making some amazing openings, and removing obstructions in my life. Thanks for being so open with sharing your thoughts as you forge through little trodden territory!

Gratitude and love to you. Have a beautiful time!
    best wishes,
    Sunmaiden

  7. Hi, again . . . Glad you found my old writings. At the beginning, I did it to inspire my own self and keep my focus on my intention. Also, it is helpful to be around peeps who are doing what you want to do. Environment is HUGE! Thank you again for writing here and please continue on this most beautiful journey . . . ♥

  8. Hi Julie!

Your blog is so inspiring. I was wondering if you buy all your produce locally? Its difficult this time of year being in the northeast. The selections are rather poor and expensive. I don't know if there are any bulk fruit suppliers that you use or know of or if there is even such a thing?

    Thank you!

    -Susan

  9. Also Jule I would say that it could be a good idea for you to add some Amazon Affiliate links into your blog. Your blog has always some interesting and great content and I am convinced that you would do well.
    Happy Holidays to you:)

    Fred.

  10. Hi, Susan . . . Yes, I do buy locally, but in the winter most of the food I buy has been shipped from somewhere, mostly Florida. I do buy sometimes from a wholesaler, but their selection is not great. We all just do the best we can. I have heard that www.jourdansbeautifulfood.com is a good place to order from. He is in Florida. Take heart, in a few weeks the citrus will be rockin'! : ) Look for valencia oranges from Florida and later, honey tangerines. Also, I order dates from srjdate@yahoo.com. His name is Steve Jones and he is in Arizona. Great dates! Citrus, bananas, and dates are my staples through the winter. Just found some good persimmons and papayas today. Always looking . . .

    Hope this helps . . .

    Love,
    Julie

Thank you for this idea, Fred. For now, I like the way my blog is, freely given. ♥

  11. Hello Julie!

I just re-read your bio, and I wanted to tell you how inspiring you are to me! I just ordered the mucus less healing system. I can't tell you how much being able to read your blog helps me move forward in my own fruity journey! Thanks again!

  12. Thank you, Ali! You are so sweet. ♥ That's a good book, a classic . . . and very inexpensive. I've been taking a winter break, and ready to get back into blogging! Love, Julie

  13. I am so excited that you will be come back soon! I am currently eating lots of bananas. I think I may just love fruit more than you do (;

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi Jules,
Just curious, do you ever eat at restaurants, whether by choice or socially?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thank you, Ali! I am loving bananas a lot right now, too! ♥

Hey, Jason . . . I almost never eat in restaurants any more. It happens maybe twice a year that I have some family thing that I can't get out of. ; ) It is hard to believe how much my life has changed. I absolutely DON'T miss restaurants at all and I don't want to support what they are doing, especially to animals. On the rare occasion that I DO go, I bring my own food every time.

In the future I have an intention to NEVER eat in restaurants unless they are 100% fruitarian. : )

    Thanks for asking! ♥

  17. Hello Julie,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this inspirational blog of yours. I was a raw vegan for a month when I was 15 and it was the most amazing month of my life. However, my sickening addiction to modern food got to me and I've spent the last 2 years in unnecessary suffering. I'm 17 now and have been fruitarian for 3 days. It just feels so right. I've read every post of your blog for motivation. It's only been a few days and I'm already experiencing some of the things you've mentioned. Cleared sinuses (I can't breathe after eating cooked food!), more energy, lighter feeling, and the blessed and cursed heightened sense of smell. Example, my boyfriend has one of the most abysmal diets I've ever seen (cake, ice cream, fried chicken, echh!). I've always just rolled my eyes at it but now I am thoroughly disgusted every time I see him eat. The worst part is that I now notice how AWFUL it makes him smell! I sometimes can't bear to go near him. Anyway, I apologize for my rambling. I just wanted to thank you for opening my eyes again.

Hi, LiveGreen/Peaches . . . .Thank you for your sweet note. You are so lucky to figure this out so early. You can save yourself lots of misery, for sure! YES on the smell issue . . . it is unbelievable how bad some people smell. Fruitarians smell so SWEET! ♥

Thank you, Duane! Yes, it's time for the honeys! I got some, but they were a bit sour. Eating valencias instead. I'm great, but I got really lazy about blogging. Ready to start back!

  20. Hello Jules! I miss you! I have been on pure fruit for a month and a half now, (just cut out greens and sprouted beens and other veggies) and there is just no way of saying how much better I feel, and I was eating pretty healthy before! No more bloating or gas, no more stomach pain. So much energy! I have been re-reading your blog for inspiration, and I hope you come back soon!
    Lots of fruity love.

  22. Hello! I had to tell you! Yesterday at work, I got like ten free apples, just because they were a little bumped and bruised! And today I got five perssimons for only one dollar! It made me think of you. The universe is so good to us fruities, right?

  24. I've dreamed of being a fruitarian for years now. But my late holdout has been Dr. Doug Graham saying some vegis will give you needed nutrients for the long haul. But then I saw a breatharian - Jeronimo something (Starfire?), and he rearranged my thinking to feel that eating only fruit was a very rich and varied diet. Thank you for your testimony in June 2009 and all your encouragement for so many! I'm going to look up your other fruitarian friends and slowly move from Dr. Graham's diet to yours!! Fruit rules!

  26. Hi Julie,

My next door neighbor is cooking something and it stink so bad.. Poor people letting such stinky poison into their bloodstream.

I honestly do not understand how some raw people can cook for their partners.

I met lately some raw fruit people in real life and it was a real delight.

Also delight is to share raw fresh fruit only with my sweet partner Mango.

Our garden is also happy and fruity one.

    I miss you!

    Love and Fruit,
    Kveta

  28. Dear Kveta . . . Oh, so great to hear from you, fruit sistah! I KNOW what you mean on the bad-smelling poison. It is everywhere! I feel sorry for people who don't know any better. We will have to show them the way. I feel sorry for my own self, living in the dark for so many decades! Thank goodness THAT is over!!!

I saw you have written some rockin' posts lately. I'd better write you on your blog. Good job!

    Love you back,
    Julie ♥
