Things I Don't Understand #14

How is it possible for a human to eat an entire industrial-sized bag of smoked gouda chipotle garlic ranch corn chips in one sitting and not die IMMEDIATELY???

Seriously.

And BTW, in case you were unaware, they literally spray addictive chemicals onto the chips in a factory.

They only want your money. They don't care about your health and well-being. They are tricking you with their brightly colored wrappings. What's inside is dead, dehydrating, and poisonous.

Don't be fooled.

Tomato Seedlings

A few weeks ago I ate some super good cherry tomatoes, so I took the seeds from one of them and planted them in a little pot. Here they are, looking almost ready to plant outside in a bigger pot. The miracle of life! And it's free! (Well, sorta. If you don't count the pot I bought somewhere along the way, the dirt I also purchased back whenever, and the tap water we pay for each month.)

Yeah, still dreaming of the fully-correct permaculture life. . . . whatever that is. . . . .

Picking Organic Strawberries

Yesterday I went to the only organic strawberry farm in the state, luckily near my home, to pick some strawberries. It is a super experience for a fruitarian to eat perfectly ripe, organic fruit right off the tree/vine/bush. This is what we are supposed to be doing! All the time! Yet so unusual in our modern urban circumstance.

So most of the berries went into the bucket, but I HAD to eat a few right off the plant, warm and full of life and seriously the sweetest strawberries EVER. Man, they literally melted in my mouth, and I felt their life and energy become my life and energy. Thank you, precious little stawberry plants. Thank you, Mother Nature. And thank you, organic fruit growers.

There were a few other people there picking, mostly moms with their children. The kids were wisely eating as many as they could right there, while their mothers talked of making pies and shortcakes and preserves. That's crazy talk.
