I hope you are able to read this wonderful story about Lulu. I got this from the book The Inner World of Farm Animals by Amy Hatkoff.
Pigs are intelligent animals. They are as intelligent, if not more so, and feeling as your cat or dog. They have hopes and fears, and want to give and receive love, just like we do.
Really, it is hard to read all the stories lately about how much people are loving bacon. People are downright gluttonous about it by coming up with zillions of recipes for bacon everything, including chocolate-covered bacon and bacon cupcakes, of all the ridiculous things. It is not "bacon." It is the decayed flesh of slaughtered pigs.
If you are unaware of what goes on behind the scenes to produce "bacon" I can tell you that it's not very nice.
I don't have any crazy wishes, like expecting everyone to live on fruit starting tomorrow, but I do have a very real dream that all humans will become vegan in my lifetime. I dream of a beautiful loving world where all life is considered sacred. ♥

That's amazing! I'm not vegan, but have been considering it for some time now. I love your blog, keep it up.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH, Cat. . . give it a try, even for a day. It's really the condiments that people love, not the "meat." I'll write more about that. Love to you. ♥
